Needed to share this photo of Paul who attended a reunion in 2008 in Las Vegas. Normally officers are hesitant to join the enlisted ranks reunions even when encouraged to do so. Today's Army is different and less focus is given to keep the ranks separate when building trust and teamwork are a necessity of combat life. In Vietnam, it was a different story and practice to separate the ranks. Paul was a welcome addition to this gathering along with CPT Ron Hendricks. I was a SSG at the end of my tour assigned to Charlie Co, 3rd plt.

Paul was well respected as our BN Surgeon. My time in the unit overlapped his service time by six months. A familiar face for those who needed his care and medical expertise. We had great doctors and medics who cared for our well being. Fortunately for me, the only medical care I needed was from the first aid station.
