Wanda Bowden Reynolds, 80 of Thaxton, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. She was born on Sunday, August 13, 1944 in West Virginia, a daughter of the late Earl Bowden and Lucille Carter Bowden. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael E. Reynolds, her daughter, Wendy Rector, grandson, Alex Tuck & great grandson, Atticus Bolden, sisters, Carolyn Lane, Daisy Johnson and brothers, Edward & Eugene Bowden.

She was retired from Bedford County Social Services and after retirement she enjoyed volunteering at the Bedford Community Christmas Station, the Montvale Library and Epworth Church. Wanda enjoyed crafting and sewing and loved being with people, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff Reynolds, Bryant Reynolds (Anne Arthur); former daughters-in-law, Beth Campbell, Becky Austin; son-in-law, Josh Rector; grandchildren, Chandler Reynolds (AJ Whitt), Hailey Branch, Charlee Rector, Ty Rector, Kristin Reynolds, Cody Reynolds, Katie Arthur as well as her great-grandson, Solomon Bolden and numerous nieces & nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bedford Community Christmas Station, P. O. Box 1353, Bedford, VA 24523.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford. Interment will follow in Peaks Presbyterian Church & Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
