Thomas Elbert Arrington Obituary

Thomas Elbert Arrington, better known as "Tommy" or "Pa", 73, of Bedford, VA passed away on

Saturday, October 19th, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born on May 24, 1951, Tommy was the son of the late Elbert and Mildred (Witt) Arrington, of Bedford. Tommy was also preceded in death by his only sister, Alice (Arrington) Key, and his father and mother in law, Moorman Morris Johnson and Collie Mitchen Johnson of Huddleston.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Pamela (Johnson) Arrington; brother Robert "Bobby"

Arrington (Barbara); sons Eric (Mary) Arrington, Jonathan Arrington; and daughter Erin Arrington;

grandchildren, Jordan Arrington, Hunter Arrington, Scott Arrington and Malani Bryant, along with many

nieces and nephews and extended family.

Tommy was a beloved member of Sedalia Baptist Church, and was a Veteran of the Army National

Guard. He had a love for driving an eighteen wheeler that started right out of high school when he started

driving for Bedford Grocery. From there he moved on to drive for Miracle Modular carrying homes and

then drove for Gunnoes Sausage for 45 years until its closure in November 2022. After retirement,

Tommy drove a truck for 10 Roads Express until his sickness began this past June. When Tommy wasn't driving a truck, you would find him on his tractor cutting and bailing hay, or on the farm checking and feeding the cows. He was an avid deer hunter and loved being in the woods. He always made sure to donate some of his deer every year to Hunters for the Hungry, an organization he felt strongly about supporting.

Our Pa had a heart of gold and loved to give back and help friends and neighbors whenever he could. He

had an infectious smile and always had a joke to tell to make you laugh. He will be greatly missed by all

who knew him. Please keep our family in your prayers in the days ahead as we navigate this life without

him.

Visitation for friends and family will be on November 9th, 2024 from 12p-2p at Sedalia Baptist Church,

Sedalia, VA. A memorial service will follow immediately after at 2pm also at the church, with Pastor Mike

Jones officiating. Pa was a simple man, so please dress casual or in camo which was his favorite color.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Hunters For The Hungry, Bedford Outdoor Sportsman

Association (BOSA) or Sedalia Baptist Church.

Arrangements are being provided by Updike Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Bedford.
