Obituary of Jerry Lee Beckner

Jerry Lee Beckner, 69 of Lynchburg, Va lost his battle with renal failure and heart failure on December 3, 2024. He was the son of the late Lindsey C. Beckner and Frances B. Beckner.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Robertson and Curtis Beckner; sister, Linda Beckner.

 

Jerry is survived by his four children, Anita Murphy (Sean), Lee Beckner (Shannon), Christopher Kirkland and Rosetta Beckner; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four brothers, Jimmy (Diane), Buster (Deborah), David (Wanda), Mike (Brenda); two sisters, Terry Cox and Nancy Williams; Numerous nieces and nephews; his two fur babies, Rosie and Buttercup.

 

Jerry worked hard his entire life, and his passion was traveling all over the country, installing conveyor belts for Sentry Equipment, where he retired after 20 years of service due to his health. He loved fishing and playing poker and going to casino, he was at it.

 

A special thank you to Nancy Williams for her endless dedication in helping take care of Jerry.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that monetary donations be made to Anita Murphy to help cover funeral expenses.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

 

Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
