Obituary of Gerald Warren Dooley

Gerald Warren Dooley, 79 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.  He was born November 2, 1945, a son of the late Warren Dickerson Dooley and Bessie Lousie Albert Dooley.

 

Gerald started his career at Murray Chevrolet in the parts department.  He also worked at Elk City, and retired as parts manager at Napa Auto Parts/Glenwood in Huddleston.  He was a member of Bedford Christian Church and enjoyed rabbit hunting, Beagle Dogs, fishing, collecting antiques, working on cars and spending time with his family and grandsons.

 

He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Janice Mayberry Dooley; his daughters, Rachel Dooley Harris (Robbie), Robin Dooley; his grandsons, Travis Warren Lilley, Landon Wayne Karnes.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.  A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 2 Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Dr. David Walton officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
