Michael Shawn McCavanaugh, 73 of Bedford passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 at his residence. He was born November 2, 1951 in New York. He was preceded in death by his father, John McCavanaugh and his sister, Jane.
He was employed in maintenance with Nottoway County Public Schools and retired from Bedford County Public Schools. Michael was an outsdoorsman, enjoyed carpentry and cutting wood.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Bandy McCavanaugh; a daughter, Michelle Armes; sons, John Simms (Megan), David Armes (Ellery); his grandchildren, Parker, Norah, Lilly, Kayley & Luke; a brother, Harry and his pet dog, Bruno as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
No services are planned and arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
