Mildred Blankenship Mock, 83 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on Sunday, January 22, 1928 in Roanoke Co., a daughter of the late Walter E. Blankenship and Florence Pearl Taylor Blankenship. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Jackson Mock, a daughter, Brenda Gilbert and a son, Jeffery Robey. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving is her daughter, Sandra Allport & husband, Les of Annandale; two sons, James Roberts, Jr. & wife, Patti of Springfield, Robert E. Robey & wife, Vivian of Moneta; four sisters, Doris Gibbs, Nancy Wray both of Bedford, Betty Weaver of Portsmouth, Judy Haga of Marion; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Quaker Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Ray Lyons officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
