James Harrison McDaniel, 72 of Blue Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 23, 2011. He was born on Thursday, April 20, 1939 in Bedford County, a son of the late Rev. William H. McDaniel and Nannie Mae Creasey McDaniel. He was a retired employee of Yokohama Tire with twenty-six years service and was a member of Trinity Church of God, Cloverdale. Surviving is his wife of fifty-two years, Mary Jones McDaniel; a son, Tony McDaniel & wife, Sandra of Blue Ridge, a daughter, Angela Bradley & husband, Barry of Troutville, three grandchildren, Ryan McDaniel, Daniel Bradley, Travis McDaniel, a great-grandson, Dalton Logan Bradley, six sisters & four brothers & their spouses as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Terry Shaw & Rev. Sam Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Montvale Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
