Roy Edward Anderson, 67 of Wirtz, and formerly of Bedford went to play music in heaven on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Roy was born on Sunday, July 16, 1944 a son of the late Tommy Lee Anderson and Mary Ruth Wade Anderson. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Lilly Marie Creasy, Irene Frances Bowden and Doris Jean Krantz. Roy is survived by his wife, Wendy of their home in Wirtz; daughters, Kathy Moreno, Lisa Meador, Shelia Fredericks; and two step-daughters, Julie Mollette and Jamie Slusser, nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter; a sister, Mary Ann Chaffin and brothers, Tommy, William, David and Charles Anderson. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at the Overstreet Family Cemetery on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Wayne Chaffin and Rev. Ron Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, November 11, 2011 from 2 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and on Saturday from 1 until 8 PM following the service at the family home in Wirtz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
