Paul Pierce Glass, 88 of Moneta, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 at his residence. He was born on Thursday, January 18, 1923 in Jonesville, VA, a son of the late Haburn Emmet Glass and Milpha Frazier Glass. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lena Josephine Weston Glass. He was a retired employee of C & P Telephone Company, a member of Belmont Methodist Church and was a U. S. Army veteran having served in World War II. Surviving is his daughter, Judith G. Myers of Bedford, two grandchildren, Rebecca Jo Craft Hershman of Charlottesville, William Paul Craft of Forest; three brothers, Don Glass of Jonesville, Everett Glass of Goldsboro, NC, Dr. Max Glass of Danville; two sisters, Reba Sadler of Jonesville, Jean Forester of Rockwood, TN. Funeral services, with military honors by American Legion Post # 16, will be held at the graveside at Virginia Memorial Park on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Mike Casey officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 5 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
