Brenda Fay Martin Goad, 48 of Moneta, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Monday, July 29, 1963 in Bedford County, a daughter of Susie Marie Mitchell Martin of Moneta and the late James Iley Martin. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Robert Wayne Goad; two sons, Michael Anthony Blevins of Roanoke, William Allen Blevins of Moneta; a granddaughter, Addison Marie Blevins of Moneta; two sisters, Wanda Hansford & husband, Ray of Roanoke, Donna Wines & husband, Willie of Catawba; three brothers, Ronnie Martin & wife, Deborah, Terry Martin, all of Moneta, Jeffrey Martin & wife, Robin of Bedford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:30 AM at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Marc Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
