Erma Ruff Heck, 89 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Heritage Green Assisted Living Community. She was born on Sunday, March 5, 1922 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Burks Lee Ruff and Bessie Dooley Ruff. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnie W. Heck. She was a retired employee of Sam Moore Furniture and was a member of Norwood Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Julie Manley & husband, Lynch of Bedford, Loretta Markham & husband, Bobby of Goode, Rachel Bryant & husband, Tom of Lyndhurst; two sons, Paul Heck of Bedford, Andrew Heck of Amherst, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth Dooley of FL, Lila Phillips, Mildred Tuthill, and Elizabeth May, all of New Jersey. Funeral Services will be held at the graveside at Greenwood Cemetery on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Todd Childers officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 4 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford
