Doris Ayers Fielder, 80 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was born on Friday, May 8, 1931 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Leason Ayers and Effie Plymale Ayers . She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Randolph Fielder and a son, Lewis Wayne Fielder. Surviving are her sons, Mark Fielder of Rustburg, Ronnie Fielder of Dallas, TX; three daughters Martha Dalton of Moneta, Bea Henderson of Sanford, NC, Teresa Haynes of Bedford; a brother, Marvin Ayers of Chesapeake as well as thirteen grandchildren & twenty three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednessday, January 11, 2012 at 11:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Dr. Larry Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Western Light Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 until 7 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
