Floyd Wilson Overstreet, 93 of Bedford, VA passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born on Thursday, August 10, 1916 in Bedford Co., a son of the late Lawrence Hampton Overstreet and Emma Atkinson Overstreet. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Viola Mae Leftwich Overstreet. He was a retired employee of Belding-Corticelli, was a member of member of V. F. W. Post # 2157, and Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in World War II with the 345th M. P. Escort Guard Company. Surviving is his son, Perry W. Overstreet & wife, Linda of Bedford; daughter, Cathy O. Robertson & husband, Bobby of Bedford; a special grandson, Nicholas H. Overstreet of Bedford, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Those wishing to make memorials are asked to consider the National D- Day Memorial, P. O. Box 77, Bedford, VA 24523 . Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
