Lois Updike Obituary

Lois Virginia "Katie" Updike, 96 of Lynch Station, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the home of her granddaughter. She was born on Tuesday, August 24, 1915 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Frank Leo Overstreet and Norma Scott Creasey Overstreet. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Herbert Updike. She was a retired employee of Burlington Industries and was a member of the Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving are sons, Ricky Edward Updike of Gretna, Reginald Keith Updike & wife, Linda of Hurt, two grandchildren, Jason Updike of Lynch Station, Delores Hatcher & husband, Samuel of Clover; a brother, Elton Overstreet of Hurt, and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Leftwich Cemetery on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
