Neda Hawkins Craig, 94 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Bedford County Nursing Home. She was born on Wednesday, January 30, 1918 in Bedford Co., VA, a daughter of the late Major Alfred Hawkins and Beatrice Padgett Craig. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Allen Steger Craig. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Surviving is her daughter, Sandra Johnson & husband, Doug of Bedford; a son, Donald Craig of Bedford; a brother, Clarence Hawkins & wife, Thelma of Bedford, three grandchildren, Kevin Johnson, Eric Johnson, Terry Craig & wife, Rhonda, a great granddaughter as well as numerous nieces & nephews. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 3805 Otterville Road, Bedford, VA 24253. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at the Hawkins Family Cemetery on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Mark Flores officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
