James Lewis "Pap Pap" Scicchitano, 84 of Bedford, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on Monday, February 6, 1928 in Kulpmont, PA, a son of the late Dominick Scicchitano and Teresa Varano Scicchitano. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Delores Margaret Patrick Scicchitano, a son, John Gary Scicchitano and a grandson, Patrick James Scicchitano. He was a retired employee of Bedford Weaving and was a comminicant of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Army. Surviving are his sons, Jim Scicchitano & wife, Natalie of Castle Rock, CO, Robert Scicchitano & wife, April of Bedford; a daughter, Nadine Kraft & husband, Steve of Bedford; four grandchildren, Ashley Morris & husband, Mike, MaHalea Scicchitano, Madison & Matthew Scicchitano; two great granddaughters, Kyla Butler, Kayleigh Morris; two brothers, Lou Scicchitano, Joe Scicchitano both of Kulpmont, PA; three sisters, Marion Pickering of Shamokin, PA, Catherine Maciejewski of Kulpmont, PA, Antoinette Bach of Kulpmont, PA. A special thanks to all of the Centra Staff who provided excellent care to our loved one, especially Joe and Tina from SICU and Cindy at the Summit. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church with Father Salvador Anonuevo officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call Monday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 5 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
