Helen Louise Wyatt Burks, 77 of Bedford, VA passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center following complications from surgery. She was born on Thursday, December 27, 1934 in Richlands, VA, a daughter of the late Fred Thomas Wyatt and Beatrice Cox Wyatt . She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norwood Marshall Burks Jr. and a brother, Jimmie Jack Wyatt. Helen received her nursing degree from Lewis-Gale Hospital in 1953, married "Marshall" in 1959. She is survived by two children; Susan Alane Burks Reece and her husband Steven of Montvale, and Robert Marshall Burks and his wife Rita of Bedford, granddaughters, Sarah Catherine Reece and Stephanie Ann Burks Reece, Step-Grandsons; Daniel Reece and Benji Rhodes, Step-Great-Granddaughter, Katelyn Rhodes, Brother, Carl Douglas Wyatt and his wife Joyce of Goldsboro, N.C., sister-in-law, Fai Wyatt of Bedford and special friends Agnes Fellers and Parker Nance. Helen was the owner/operator of Campbell's Rest Home since 1986 and will be remembered for her loving care to all her residents and her generosity to many.
