Junior Francis Goff, 64 of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Salem VA Medical Center. He was born on Friday, November 28, 1947 in Big Island, VA, a son of the late Charlie Alonza Goff and Mary Higgens Goff. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Dooley Goff. He was a member of Sedalia Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran having received the purple heart in Vietnam. Surviving are his three daughters, one son, three brothers; Charlie J. Goff and wife Betty, Winfred V. Goff and wife Elizabeth, Michael A. Goff and wife Patsy; two sisters, Vannie G Campbell and Delores G. Newman and husband, Eddie. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Updike Funeral Home Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Brandon Baber officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday beginning at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 1 at the Rapps Mill Cemetery, Buchanan. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
