Phyllis Langford Woodford, 90 of Bedford, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 at Blue Ridge Manor in Martinsville. She was born on Tuesday, December 20, 1921 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Walter Wood Langford and Hallie Wilson Langford. She was also preceded in death by husband, Edward Guy Woodford, two brothers, Ellis Langford, Bruce Langford, three sisters, Hilda Wilson, Stella Layne & Ellen Gilbert. She was a retired employee of Rubatex Corporation. Surviving is her son, Barry Woodford & wife, Sandra of Bassett; a brother, Walker Langford of Lynchburg; a sister, Katherine Wooldridge of Appomattox; two grandchildren, Thomas Woodford & Annie Woodford, two great-grandchildren, Adalie Woodford, Marion Campbell. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Virginia Memorial Park on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 3 until 5 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
