Rachel Strickler Ashwell Creasy, 56 of Bedford, VA passed away Friday, April 9, 2010 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on Thursday, October 29, 1953 in Staunton, VA, a daughter of Regina Woods Stricker St. Clair of Bedford and the late Sherman Winters Strickler. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Sherman L. Ashwell & wife, Hollie of Thaxton; sister, Phyllis D. Strickler & children of Bedford; two granddaughters, Julia Breann Ashwell & McKayla Elizabeth Ashwell, her loving companion, Robert L. McKinney & family of Bedford. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 11537, Alexandria, VA 22312. Funeral services will be held at the graveside on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Suck Spring Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Parr officiating.
