Geneva Shaver Shingleton, 50 of Vinton, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Wednesday, November 15, 1961 in Salem, a daughter of Lee Shaver and Ovella Lucas Shaver of Salem, who survive. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Norma Ward. She was a loving wife, mother and nana. She touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. In addition to her father & mother, she is survived by her husband, Benjamin Thomas Shingleton, Jr.; two daughters, Cindy Yoder & husband, Mike of Moneta, Christy Waldron & husband, Josh of Hardy; two sons, Benjamin T. Shingleton III, Josh Shingleton both of Vinton, two granddaughters, Brittany & Hailey Waldron, both of Hardy; and two sisters, Carolyn Spangler of Salem, Rose Eanes of Elliston, as well as several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 11 AM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
