Obituary of Carey Fizer

Carey Donald Fizer, 62 of Montvale, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born on Thursday, September 8, 1949 in Bedford County, VA, the son of the late Alfred C. Fizer. He was a retired equipment operator for the U.S. Park Service and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Walnut Grove Union Church. He is a proud Harley Davidson owner. He and his wife were both members of the C.M.A. motorcycle group. He loved spending time with his favorite hunting buddy, Jared. He is survived by his mother, Annie Mae Carter Forgie & his step-dad, Raymond Forgie of Roanoke, his wife, Theresa Barrosse Fizer who lost the love of her life after 36 years of marriage, his beloved son Donald Wayne Fizer & his wife, Laura of Montvale; his grandson Jared Wayne Fizer, a sister, Kathy A. St.Clair of Roanoke; two brothers, Roger L. Fizer & his wife, Reva of Roanoke and David C. Fizer & his wife, Donna of Moneta; three nephews, Randy and Timmy Fizer and Sidney Barrosse and two nieces, Mel Galleo and Sue Brown as well as many special friends. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider the Celebration Church of God Food Bank, 4429 Buck Mountain Road, Roanoke, VA 24018. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 11:00 am at Walnut Grove Union Church with Rev. Dwayne Shepard officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, June 04, 2012 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
