W. Ray Stinnette, 86 of Huddleston, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born on Saturday, March 20, 1926 in Bedford County, a son of the late Cleveland Guy Stinnette and Me Kirby Stinnette. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Marie Holland Stinnette & a brother, Clarence Glen (C.G.) Stinnette. He was a lifelong farmer and also a lifelong member of Pecks Baptist Church as well as a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was an avid fisherman & hunter. Surviving is his daughter, Sherry Creasy & husband, Marvin of Huddleston; two sons, Terry Ray Stinnette & wife, Mena, Perry Lynn Stinnette & wife, Jan, all of Huddleston; six grandchildren, Randall Creasy, Stephen Stinnette & wife, Abbey, Jacob Stinnette & wife, Victoria, Justin, Leeza & Jordan Stinnette; a great-grandson, Ryan Stinnette. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 11:00 am at Pecks Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Sheehan officiating. Interment, with military honors by American Legion Post # 16, will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday beginning at 6 PM and until 8:00 pm at Pecks Baptist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
