Richard Edward "Chris" Newman, 94 of Huddleston, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012 at his residence. He was born on Friday, August 17, 1917 in Bedford Co., a son of the late William M. Newman and Daisy Howell Newman. He was a retired employee of Klopman Mills and was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church . Surviving is his wife, Lucy Massett Newman; a sister-in-law, Alma C. Newman of Roanoke, two nieces, Pam Newman of Roanoke, Nancy Driscoll of Moneta. Funeral services will be held ay the graveside at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Rev. George Simmons and Rev. David Bayse officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
