Eleanor Rose Phillips, 71 of Thaxton, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 at her home. She was born on Saturday, August 24, 1940 in Thaxton, a daughter of the late James Eli Rose and Eva Jane Johnson Rose. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Pascal Rose. She was previously employed with Vinton Weaving and was a member of the Stoney Creek Rebekah Lodge 103. Surviving is her husband, Donald Phillips; a daughter, Audrey Frigiano & husband, Ralph of Spring Hill, FL; a son, Michael Phillips; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Willie Rose Witt of Thaxton, Elsie Rose White of Staunton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Bob Sowder officiating. Interment will follow in Peaks Presbyterian Church & Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
