Ronald Wood Obituary
Ronald Dean Wood, 49 of Bedford, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on Wednesday, January 16, 1963 in Bedford County, a son of Willard Dean Wood and Doris Jean McKinney Wood of Bedford who survive. He was an employee of the Public Service Authority and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He was also a U. S. Air Force veteran. In addition to his father and mother, he is survived by his wife, Sandy Jean Croft Wood; three sons, Scott Lane Wood, Seth Michael Wood, Stevie Ray Wood all of Bedford; a brother, Jeffrey Todd Wood of Raleigh, NC, three brothers-in-law, Dennis Croft & wife, Cyndi, David Croft & wife, Holly, Michael Croft & wife, Rose of Bedford; mother-in-law, Ann Croft Ferguson & husband, Bill of Bedford; maternal grandmother, Alice O. McKinney of Bedford, grandmother-in-law, Grammy Nancy Moore of Bedford, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & friends. Those wishing to leave a written memory for the Wood family are asked to bring it to the visitation or the funeral. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 10:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Michael Cox and Rev. Ray Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in Suck Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 1 until 4 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
