Edward Davis Obituary
Edward Bernard Davis, 86 of Forest, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Campbell Rest Home. He was born on Wednesday, April 21, 1926 in Bedford Co., a son of the late Walter Otey Davis and Mary Stinnette Davis. He was a retired employee of McLean Trucking and was a member of Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy. He was also a U. S. Army veteran having served in World War II. Surviving is his wife, Florence Gibbs Davis; three sons, Wyatt Bernard Davis of Forest, Walter Edward Davis & wife, Sandra of Forest, James Read Davis of Beaver, WV; two daughters, Alline Davis Rhodes & husband, Ken of Fletcher, NC, Sarah Davis Turner of Forest; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two brothers, William A. Davis of Bedford, Sammy Davis of Lynchburg. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Bedford Carilion Hospice Care, P. O. Box 688, Bedford, VA 24523. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 am at Timber Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Murphy & Rev.Phillip Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 until 9 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
