Obituary of Frank Wilkerson

Frank Nein Wilkerson, age 56 of Roanoke passed away suddenly Thursday, August 23, 2012. Frank was born the 9th day of the 9th month at 9 o'clock in 1955, he weighed 9 pounds 9 ounces and his last name contains 9 letters. His middle name Nein is German for nine which he was affectionately known by his family. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nancy Wilkerson, sister Brenda Wilkerson and son-in-law Phillip Higgins. Frank was an exceptional cook and was the owner/operator of The Lunch Box Restaurant for many years. His Frank's Famous Sub was his signature sandwich. Frank never met a stranger and loved to laugh and joke. He was an excellent back yard mechanic and NASCAR fan. He was also a true and loyal Washington Redskin fan throughout their good and bad years. Frank is survived by his one and only Baby Girl, Suzanne, brothers, Charlie (Marilyn) Wilkerson, Rick (Sharon) Wilkerson, Lynn (Vickie) Wilkerson and sister, Pam (Scott) Fuhrman, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friend, Vickie Sue Wilkerson. Also, he left three spoiled rotten cats, Peaches, Big Boy and Minky who will truly miss him. A celebration of Frank's life will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to Angels of Assisi or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
