Willis Graham "Tommy" Corvin, 68 of Thaxton, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at his residence. He was born on Thursday, December 18, 1941 in Wytheville, a son of the late Willis Lloyd Corvin and Helen Felty Corvin. Tommy was a Gulf truck driver for eighteen years and a mechanic for the rest of his career. His passion was his wife and family along with his bees, gardening and cooking. Tommy was loved by many friends who were like family to him. Surviving is his loving wife of twenty-five years, Loretta Sifford Corvin; a brother, William B. Corvin of Martinsburg, WV, three sons, David G. Corvin & wife, Karen of Catlett; James A. Corvin & wife, Tammy of Summerduck; Jeffrey D. Corvin of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; five granddaughters, Tara Beth, Kelly, Kallen, Ashley, Allison and a great-grandson, Colton. He is also survived by one uncle, Garland Corvin and one aunt, Margaret Snavely. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Joe Shoop officiating. Interment will follow in th Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg at 2 PM. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford
