Melody Orange Bennett, 45 of Thaxton, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Sunday, September 3, 1967 in Bedford, a daughter of Cathy Overstreet White of Bedford who survives and the late Saford Frederick Orange. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Samuel Wade Bennett; a daughter, Audrey Bennett of Thaxton; a son, Alex Bennett of Thaxton; a brother, Timmy Orange of Bedford; her mother-in-law, Jean Bennett of Bedford, sister-in-law, Kathy Bennett-Burns & husband, Wesley of Bedford, a special niece, Lexi Thomas, special aunt, Betty Reno & family; her special pitbull, Peaches, as well as other family members & friends that she loved dearly. The family requests that those wishing to make memorials consider the Bedford Lifesaving Crew, P. O. Box 161, Bedford, VA 24523. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 10:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford Interment will follow in the Nicopolis United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford
