Nan Reynolds passed peacefully on October 29, 2012 and is now walking hand in hand with our Lord. She was 95 years young. Nan was born on February 16, 1916 in Bedford, Virginia as the only girl among 5 children to late Thomas Henry Reynolds and Jessie McAnally Reynolds. Nan was born and raised in her current residence in Bedford. She received her Practical Nurse's License in 1946 and spent the next 41 years in a nursing career, the majority of that time as a private duty nurse and some years at Bedford Hospital. She retired in 1987 and took excellent care of her mother the last four years of her life. She was named Bedford Business and Professional Women's Club "Woman of the Year" in 1976 for her outstanding work with the club's Dental Care Project. She was a long-time member of Laurel Grove Presbyterian Church when it was active. Nan's passion was cooking and visiting with her neighbors and friends in Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Hobson and Thomas E. "Mike" Reynolds. She is survived by her two brothers, Charles McAnally Reynolds Sr. and his wife Josephine of Bedford and Claude Lewis Reynolds, Sr. and his wife Anne of Roanoke, Virginia. Although Nan never married or had children of her own, she loved her five nephews, Tommy Reynolds, Jr. of Bedford, Charles R. Reynolds of Waynesboro, Virginia, Chuck Reynolds of Richmond, Virginia, Rick Reynolds of Fort Worth, Texas and Lew Reynolds of Cary, North Carolina.
