Ronald Ray Richardson, 73 of Bedford, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at his residence. He was born on Monday, December 19, 1938 in Raleigh County, VA, a son of the late King Ray Richardson and Lauretta Mae White Richardson. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Autumn Nicole Chenault. He was a retired salesman with Woodson Pontiac. Surviving is his wife, Lirlie Stephens Richardson; four sons, Jimmy Richardson & wife, Rita of Montvale, Ronnie Richardson & wife, Jill, Sean Richardson & special friend, Brittany Van Buskirk, Jeffrey Richardson, all of Bedford; two daughters, Sherry Chenault of MD, Donna Hobbs & husband, Mark of Goode; a sister Betty Jo Abbott of Pennsylvania; fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren. A special thanks to Cathy at Carilion Hospice of Bedford and Carol at CVS Pharmacy. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Bobby Sylvia & Stephen Jayne officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12 pm until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
