Paul Eckart Obituary
Paul F. Eckart, 77 of Bedford, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born on Friday, December 28, 1934 in Bedford County, a son of the late Edward Paul Eckart and Sarah Frances Overstreet Eckart. He was a retired foreman with English Construction having been employed for forty-nine & 1/2 years. He was a member of the Little Switzerland Hunt Club, the Buckingham Bucks Hunt Club and was also a member of Laurel Grove Presbyterian Church. He was also a U. S. Army veteran. Surviving is his wife, Glenda Callahan Eckart; three sons, Paul Eckart & wife, Tammy, Michael Eckart & wife, Carolyn, Ronnie Eckart & wife, Janie all of Bedford; seven grandchildren, Christopher Eckart & wife, Ashley, Matthew Eckart & wife, Brandy, Daniel Eckart, Katie Beth Eckart, Eric Donald, Chris Carter, Boyce Craig; one great grandchild; a brother, Jerry Eckart & wife, Marie of Bedford; a sister, Bonnie Toms & husband, Ronald of Bedford; his step-mother/mother-in-law, Irene Eckart; a very special aunt, Virginia Brown; special cousins, Mary Stevens & Marie Hoover; special friends, Barbara Fielder & Nancy Ruff. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Holy Land USA Cemetery on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 11 AM with Rev. Mark Oblinger and Rev. Jimmy Dooley officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
