Obituary of Sarah Witt

Sarah Alpha Heflin Witt, 85 of Lynch Station, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on Thursday, April 14, 1927 in Campbell County, a daughter of the late Jason Leroy Winebarger and Sarah Camilla Smith Winebarger. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, William S. Heflin, Sr., & Oscar Earl Witt, Sr. She was a retired employee of Winebarger Corporation and was a member of Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving are her sons, Bill Heflin & wife, Debbie, Mike Helfin & wife, Ann, all of Lynch Station, Bobby Heflin & wife, Sharon of Lillington, NC, Fred Heflin & wife, Audra of Evington, her daughters, Sue Childers of Lynch Station, Sarah Spruce of Lynchburg, Donna Woodfuff & husband, Chris of Bedford, four step-sons, Oscar E. Witt, Jr., Bobby Lee Witt, Chester D. Witt, all of Altavista; Richard J. Witt of FL, a step-daughter, Betty Witt Shelton of VA, fifteen grandchildren. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy, 1786 School Crossing Road, Lynch Station, VA 24571. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11:00 am at Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Ken Lester & Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Independence Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 5 PM at Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
