Ernest Wayne McClanahan, 59 of Moneta, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on Monday, September 14, 1953 in Fayette County, WV, a son of the late Ray McClanahan and Gladys Goddard McClanahan. Surviving is his wife, Lorena Nichols McClanahan; two sons, Wayne Ray McClanahan of Cynthiana, KY, Ernest W. McClanahan, Jr. & wife, Alicia of Georgetown, KY; a step-son, Charles "Trey" Switzer of Moneta; two brothers, Arthur Lee McClanahan of Moneta, Brother, Danny Robert McClanahan of Elyria, OH; a sister, Patricia Lynn Hodovonic of Broadview Heights, OH; two grandchildren, Nathan Hall & Leanna McClanahan. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501 Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 AM until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford
