Rebecca Barnette Gibson, 46 of Montvale and most recently of Mills River, NC passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Elizabeth House Hospice Facility in Hendersonville, NC. She was born on Monday, August 1, 1966 in Cowen, WV, a daughter of the late George Barnette and Gustava Harless Barnette. Surviving is her son, Bobby Gibson & wife, Amy of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Leah Allgood, Lila Gibson & Easton Gibson; her loving ex-husband, Bobby Gibson, Sr. of Montvale; companion, Robert Stockdale & his children, Katherine & Jacob Stockdale of Mills River, NC; two sisters, Brenda Fisher, Patty Revels both of Cowan, WV; four brothers, Roger Lee Dodd of Blue Ridge, David Barnette & wife, Kandy of Cowan, WV, Gene Barnette & wife, Shelby and Charles Barnette all of Roanoke. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford. Becky's final resting place will be in the Handschumacher Cemetery, Upperglade, WV. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 PM until the time of the services at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
