Minnie Artie Woodford, 89 of Bedford, VA passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Campbell Rest Home. She was born on Sunday, January 2, 1921 in Bedford Co, VA, a daughter of the late Gilbert E Woodford and Lela Wilson Woodford. She was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Myrtle Eugenia Anderson; sister, Edith W. Smith, Una W. Jones and Bessie W. Johnson, and a two brothers, Kyle Woodford, Sr. and Gilbert E. Woodford, Jr. She was a retired bank teller with Dominion Bank and was a member of Mentow Baptist Church. Surviving are her brothers, Davis E. Woodford & wife, Brenda, Fred R. Woodford & wife, Emma, all of Huddleston; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. The family requests that those wishing to make memorials to consider Mentow Baptist Church, 3282 Mentow Drive, Huddleston, VA 24104. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 2 PM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the Mentow Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call Friday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
