Alfred Clay Morgan, Sr., 74 of Huddleston, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at his residence. He was born on Sunday, June 12, 1938 in Bedford County, a son of the late Samuel Henry Morgan and Clara Blankenship Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Judith Anne Ferguson Morgan. He was a retired employee of BGF Industries. Surviving are his sons, Alfred C. Morgan, Jr. and wife, Theresa, Ronnie Morgan & wife, Kim all of Goodview, Henry Morgan & wife, Renee of Altavista; a brother, Wallace Morgan & wife, Betty of Body Camp; a sister, Marie Holland & husband, Marvin of Rocky Mount; his close friend, Loretta Cheek of Huddleston; several grandchildren & great grandchildren. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Huddleston Lifesaving Crew, P. O. Box 77, Huddleston, VA 24104 or Huddleston Fire Department, 5377 Smith Mountain Lake Parkway, Huddleston, VA 24104. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Virginia Memorial Park on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Riley Smith officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
