Obituary of Robert Greene JR

Robert Craig Greene, Jr., 79, of Smith Mountain Lake died on January 17, 2013 at his home after his battle with esophageal cancer. Robert graduated from GM Institute of Flint Michigan in 1954. During his career he was presented with many awards to honor his inventions and forward thinking. After many years of working for Montgomery County, Maryland, he retired to Smith Mountain Lake in 1990. He is survived by his wife of 59 year, Marsha B. Greene; children, daughter Teresa Zizack and husband, Timothy of Tampa, Fl; son, Robert Craig Greene, III and wife, Lisa G. Greene of Middletown, MD; and daughter, Jennifer G. Howe and husband, Peter of Chesapeake, VA; he is also survived by grandchildren, Christopher Potter and Emily, Shelley Potter, Austin Howe, Lindsey Howe and Taylor Greene as well as great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Potter, Evan Potter, and Cayden Wilkins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Greene. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to Amedisys Hospice , 1312 West Main Street, Salem, VA 24153 or the American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501. The family would like to extend our appreciation to the Amedisys Hospice staff Cindy, Julie and Sabrina for their unbounded friendship, love and care to my husband and our father.
