Paul Russell Witt, 47 of Chatham, went home Monday, January 7, 2013 at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, December 1, 1965 in Lynchburg, a son of Jack Peters and Betty Moles Peters of Moneta, who survive. He was an employee of Arrington's Construction. He loved his bike, WARPIG, fishing & drag racing. He had a kind heart and never failed his family & friends. In addition to his father & mother, he is survived by his wife, Sheila Oakes Witt; his daughter, Emily G. Wright of Chatham; his step-son, Melvin G. Walker III of Glade Hill; his sister, Debra Dooley & husband, Kyle of Bedford; his brothers, Ricky Witt & wife, Denise, J. B. Peters, all of Bedford; numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11:00 am at Flint Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Dooley officiating.
