Lois West Morgan, 95 of Huddleston, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at her residence. She was born on Sunday, September 9, 1917 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late James Allen West and Hattie Bertha Cundiff West. She was also preceded in death by husband, William Thomas "Billy" Morgan. She was a retired hairdresser at Mary Lee Beauty Shop and was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. Surviving is a special nephew, Dennis E. West of Huddleston; nephew, Russell Morgan & wife, Edna of Huddleston; niece, Joyce Edna Allen & husband, Morgan of Gretna; two sisters-in-law, Bevie W. West, Norma A. West, both of Huddleston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Huddleston Fire Department, 5377 Smith Mountain Lake Parkway, Huddleston, VA 24104 or the Huddleston Lifesaving Crew, P. O. Box 77, Huddleston, VA 24104 . Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Turner, Rev. David Bayse & George Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 9 AM until the time of the service at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
