Robert Lee Overstreet, Sr., 86 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on Saturday, November 6, 1926 in Bedford County, a son of the late Charles Lewis Overstreet and Mary Magdalene Dooley. He was also preceded in death by a son Robert Lee Overstreet Jr.. He was a retired employee of the Bedford Weaving Mill and a 13 year U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II and Korea. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Witt Overstreet, 3 daughters; Roberta O. Little & fiance, Kenny of Bedford, Leanna S. Clark of Lynchburg, Linda J. Peck of Lynchburg; a son, Samuel G. Overstreet & wife Debi of Roanoke, 10 Grandchildren, Several Great-Grandchildren and 1 Sister. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
