Wilson Carper Prillaman, Jr. 71 of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on Wednesday, May 14, 1941 in Martinsville, a son of Essie O'Bryan Prillaman of Bedford, who survives and the late Wilson Carper Prillaman, Sr. He was a retired employee of Rubatex and was a member of the American Legion & VFW Post # 2157. He was also a member of Longwood Avenue Baptist Church and a veteran of the Army Air Corp. having served in Vietnam. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Anh Ngoc Prillaman two daughters, Robin Prillaman Gibson & husband, Donnie of Quarryville, PA, Jacqueline Prillaman Mix & husband, Bill of Merryville, PA; three grandchildren, Matthew, Angela & Katrina Gibson; a step-grandson, Jeremy Gibson; a sister, Rosemary Carolyn Prillaman of Burke; a brother, Jerry Lee Prillaman of Bedford. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Longwood Avenue Baptist Church, 1304 Longwood Avenue, Bedford, VA 24523. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Franklin/Clearview Cemetery, Rocky Mount on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Friends may call Friday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 4 until 7 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
