Effie Louise "Sissy" Carter, 54 of Bedford, VA passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on Friday, September 9, 1955 in Bedford Co., VA, a daughter of Sarah Carter Carter of Bedford who survives and the late Robert Randolph Carter. She was also preceded in death by a daughter., Rebecca Louise Carter. She is a former employee of Brooks Food Group with thirty years of service. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Tabitha Carter of Bedford; her husband, Donnie L. Carter; two brothers, Robert O. Carter of Bedford; Fred J. Carter & wife, Gail of Thaxton; her pride and joy nephews, Fredrick D. Carter and Robert Lee Carter; nieces, Trisha Lynn Carter, Brandi Marie Carter; her little monkey - great niece, Haley Michelle Carter, several other great nieces & nephews, Ayden Dwayne Carter, Alivia Lee Carter, Robert Ray Jackson Carter. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Parker Family Cemetary with Rev. Raymond Ruff and Rev. Burks Ruff officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 Am until 1 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
