Danny Lee Mitchell, 52 of Bedford, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at his residence. He was born on Saturday, October 1, 1960 in Bedford County, a son of Betty Jean Franklin Richardson and the late Emmett Wayne Mitchell. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Paige M. Howell & husband, Dave; a son, Caleb D. Mitchell; a granddaughter, Kenadie A, Howell; three brothers, Randy Mitchell, Ray Mitchell, Glenn Mitchell & wife, Lisa; a sister, Renee M. Holdren; his step-father, Mack Richardson as well as numerous nieces & nephews. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Moneta Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 497, Moneta, VA 24121 or the Moneta Fire Department, P. O. Box 455, Moneta, VA 24121. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 4:00 pm at the graveside at Quaker Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
