Martha Johnson Faucher, 75 of Bedford, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on Wednesday, August 25, 1937 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Robert Fulton Johnson and Jennie Campbell Buck Johnson. She was also preceded in death by husband, Thomas Frederick Faucher, and a son, Thomas Frederick Faucher, Jr. She was a member and communicant of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church and was a member of the Women of the Moose #1005. Surviving is her daughter, Laura Hawkes; two sons, Jay Faucher, Robert Faucher, eleven grandchildren, Corinne, Janice, Amanda, Jennifer, Whitney, Cody, Robert, Tom III, Casey, Nicole, Trevor; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Jennie Murdock, Sheila Johnson. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Lynchburg Area Center for Independent Living, c/o Phil Theisen, Executive Director, 500 Alleghany Avenue, Suite 520, Lynchburg, VA 24501. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 10:00 am at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church with Father Salvador Anonuevo officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
