Harold Lewis McGhee, Sr., 84 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. He was born on Wednesday, October 31, 1928 in Roanoke, a son of the late Clarence E. McGhee and Kathleen Atkins McGhee. He was also preceded in death by wife, Phyllis June Safewright McGhee. He was a retired employee of Frank Chervan. Surviving is his son, H. Lewis McGhee & wife, Mary Jane of Bedford and a grandson, Joshua Lewis McGhee of Bedford. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the graveside at Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Ron Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
