Obituary of Harrison Wood

Harrison Eugene "Fred" Wood, 71 of Lynch Station, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on Friday, February 13, 1942 in Maple Meadows, WV, a son of the late Everett Wood and Annie Marie Goff Wood. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Francis Wood, a son, Harrison Eugene Wood Jr., and a sister, Mary Trent. He was a retired employee of Winebarger and was a member of Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving is his son, David W. Wood & wife, Tracy of Lynch Station; three daughters, Malinda W. Rader & husband, Allen of Hominey Falls, WV, Audra W. Heflin & husband, Freddie of Lynch Station, Juanita Carol Wood of New Ellenton, SC; nine grandchildren, Jason, Jesse, Justin & Quinton Wood, Matthew & Travis O'Neal, Sarah & Robbie O'Neal, Delta Dawn Rader, six great grandchildren; the love of his life, Lindy Wetherington of Lynch Station; three brothers, James Wood of WV, Walter Wood of Lynch Station, Wayne Wood of Hurt; two sisters, Norma Jean Richards, Nellie Barker both of WV. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11:00 am at Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Ken Lester & Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Leesville United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 PM at Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
