William R. Morris, 80 of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Lynchburg Specialty Care. He was born on Thursday, December 22, 1932 in Giles County, a son of the late Cloyd Morris and Reba Tibbs Morris. He was a retired X-Ray Technician at Babcock & Wilcox, was a member Trinity Baptist Church and a U. S. Army Veteran. Surviving is his wife, Gaynelle Arthur Morris; a daughter, Debra M. Crouch & husband, David of Thaxton; three sons, Gerald Morris & wife, Francie, Wayne Morris & wife, Wanda all of Bedford, Danny Ray Morris & wife, Allie of Ledyard, CT; five grandchildren, Mary Morris, Dustin Crouch, Kelsey Morris, Jenna Morris, Hannah Morris; three step-grandsons; three brothers, Crockett Morris of Waverly, Sammie Morris of Bluefield, WV, Rev. Randy Morris of Galax. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider The Gideons International, Bedford County Camp, P. O. Box 791, Bedford, VA 24523 or Trinity Baptist Church, 947 Lyle Street, Bedford, VA 24523. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 10:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Vernon DeLong & Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. Friends may call after 12 noon on Friday and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and other times are the home of Debra & David Crouch
